ABOUT TANGENT PRO-AM
We at Tangent are all about BMX and the excitement that it brings to not only us, but all the families and friends involved. We have been pushing the limits of the BMX Component line for 22 years and wanted to try and help build the local scene here in NorCal. While we have hosted a single Pro Am annually at the state finals every year since 2003 we decided it was time to take the next step. We are going to host a 12 race series in 2020 in hopes of promoting BMX, the Pros of the sport and some of the best tracks in California and Nevada. Also, to give the top Amateurs a chance to compete against some of the world’s best Pro’s.

In 2021, 12 races will be held at the following events:
SERIES POINTS:
Points will be award for every round of racing at each race as follows:
8th – 1
7th – 2
6th – 3
5th – 4
4th – 5
3rd – 6
2nd – 7
1st – 8
RESULTS USED FOR RANKING
MEN:
A riders best 6 race results will be counted for a riders Series Points.
WOMEN:
A riders best 4 race results will be counted for a riders Series Points.
FORMAT OF RACE

Men: Must be 15 years or older – Expert / Men’s Pro category – Cruisers may enter however if cruiser is used must be used in all events.
Women: Must be 13 years or older – Girl / Women’s Pro category – Cruisers may enter however if cruiser is used must be used in all events.
2 Moto’s –
1st moto - 1st race of the day
2nd moto - after 2nd round of cruisersQuarters (if applicable) - end of 2nd motos
Semi – First of Semis
Autograph session 15 minutes after second round of ProAm (Pro Mandatory – Please bring signing material if possible)
Main Event – Will run before 1st Main
All tie breakers for moto’s will be 2nd moto. If there is still a tie it will result in a coin flip where both riders are present.
Results will be posted on the website after each event.

Moto’s - decided by computer
Quarter's/Semi’s - decided by points out of moto’s – Lowest points are first pick – Ams then Pros
Main decided from points in moto’s + Quarter/Semi – Lowest points are first pick – Ams then Pros
PAYOUT
Unlike other races and Pro-am races we will tell you where the money is coming from in hopes that the parents and future BMX pro’s partake and help grow the Tangent Pro-am to the huge potential we know that it has.
Each track has agreed to a $5 increase in entry fees to go straight to the Pro-am riders
Pros - $25
Ams - $10 (must sign up for class race of the day)
Minimum purse for each race will be $1000 broken down at the end of the day as follows: 1-35%/ 2-20%/ 3-12%/ 4-10%/ 5-8%/ 6-6%/ 7-5%/ 8-4%
End of the year bonus for the top 10 riders overall in the series
Payout for the 10 riders will be as follows: 1-24%/ 2-18%/ 3-13%/ 4-10%/ 5-8%/ 6-6%/ 7-6%/ 8-5%/ 9-5%/ 10-5%
Highest amateur in standings will receive a $500 bonus on top of year end status
Youngest amateur w/ highest rankings will receive a $100 bonus at year end
Must race at least 6 events to receive Series End payout.
